Sweet Love Story!

We wanted to feature a beautiful couple on this fabulous Valentine’s Day, Jeff and Brittany Thomas, that are full of love and sweet on candy. Here is their love story and how they used Dulce Designs to sweeten their event!

Jeff and I first met at a friend’s BBQ. Our mutual friend thought we were perfect for each other (he was right) invited each of us to the party (not telling us about it) with the purpose of setting us up. When Jeff first got there my friend spent the next few minutes talking him up, oh he’s a great guy, athletic etc… Jeff then sat across from me with a bag of potato chips. I assumed they were for everyone but apparently he brought his own chips. I attempted to take a few and he proceeded to say, “hey what are you doing eating my chips?” I apologized and asked if I may have some, he gave me two…and the rest is history.

Jeff Proposed when we were in New York City for Christmas. We spent the day ice Skating at Rockefeller Center, CA ridge ride in Central Park, Dinner at my favorite NYC Restaurant Rosa Mexicana at Lincoln Center, a show on Broadway Phantom of the Opera. We then got back to our hotel and he was acting very strange cleaning things up moving other things around. I then went to the restroom and when I came back there was champagne and Jeff was standing by the window. When I went over to him he was shaking and really nervous but it wasn’t until I hugged him that I realized what was happening, is heart felt like it was going to beat out of this chest. He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry…. and I answered yes before he could even say me!!!!

On our wedding day we wanted something we would never forget, we both have fun and creative personalities, we wanted it to be unique and fun. Jeff is an aquatic biologist so the Newport Aquarium seemed the perfect choice of venue. We both share a love of candy, when I first met Angela at a bridal show and saw the candy display I knew it was exactly what we needed for our unique wedding! We wanted the night to be something everyone would enjoy and be talking about for many years to come!

As a couple we would highly recommend Angela from Dulce Designs for candy buffet and centerpieces, Our Photographer Angela Sampson from Ron Wood Photography. My hairdresser Mary Strotman from Michael and Co Salon. The Aquarium as a venue working with Brent Baker was a breeze; she made everything such low stress! Funkys Catering was awesome everyone commented on how great the food was!

Our candy Buffet and centerpieces were such a huge hit, everyone commented on the unique Idea and how wonderful it looked! They loved that they could eat our centerpieces! We still have friends and family talking about how great of an Idea It was and we are still eating leftover candy, its great!!

My advice to other brides is to try not to stress; it all comes together in the end!
