Newspaper Themed Baby Shower

I was beyond thrilled and excited to plan a baby shower for my cousin, Sarah. They are expecting a baby girl in less than 2 weeks!! Growing up my cousin and I have always been more like sisters. I am now so happy that our babies will be so close in age so they can grow up together creating memories just like we have.

For the baby shower I really wanted to do something different and outside the box. So, after looking up ideas and inspirations online and pinterest I decided on a Newspaper themed party. The decor would be all black and white with soft baby pink as the accent color. I brought my idea to Kristen at Poeme (who is amazing!) and she made the invitations and all paper goods come to life…once that was designed and decided it was much easier to plan the rest of the decor. I always find it much easier to first have a theme and to go from there when planning a party. Below are some photos of the party and more party details..now we just have to wait for sweet Baby K to arrive!! :)

First I have to start with the pink and white colorized dessert table! The cake pops were amazing and from Cupcake Crazy, labels by Poeme and the dessert buffet was provided by Dulce Designs.

I am in love with the invitations and Mad Libs that Poeme did for us, I sent in the wording and party theme and they created all the paperwork to coordinate!

One of my favorite things to have at a party is a photo booth! It is a fun way to get everyone together and to also tie in the party theme with the cute props that can be customized to match the event. The backdrop and banner was created from Wineandvineboutique, one of my favorite etsy shops! I loved the girly photo booth props, perfect for a girl baby shower.

Sarah’s #1 pregnancy craving during her whole pregnancy has been root beer floats, so I thought it would be cute to have these as the take home favors for all the guests. I was really pleased with the outcome!I especially love the tags created by Poeme that say, “just add ice cream”!!

We also had a DIY headband station so that Baby K would have a variety of  headbands to wear! These were ordered by the very talented LB Boutique by Lori Baskin…this is such a great add on for a baby shower! Lori is so easy to work with and even creates all the signage and direction in colors to match your event.
