I am so lucky to have a dad that gives me constant support and advice. Growing up my parents were divorced and I lived with my mom. My dad never missed a weekend or holiday.  During school plays or gymnastic events he was always there taking pictures. From the time I was a little girl I knew I could always count on him to be there. He was and is a constant in my life and one of the people I respect more than anyone in this world.  My favorite memory with my dad is when he used to take me putt putting and we would share a red vine licorice rope after. To this day, even at 30 years old I will call my dad the minute I need advice or if I just want a good laugh. My dad’s dry sense of humor is one of my favorite things about him…that and his ability to draw everyone’s attention when he is telling a story. He has an amazing work ethic and rarely misses one of my little brother’s or sister’s sporting events. What means more to me than anything now as a parent myself is to see him with my son, they are such good buddies! My son is lucky to have such a great role model as his papa Russ and I am blessed with a dad that means the world to me!

Father’s day has changed for me over the last two years, it is not just about my wonderful dad anymore but also about my husband who is now a father himself. I knew my husband would make a great dad someday but I had no idea he would fill the role so effortlessly and natural. From the minute our son was born my husband was a changed man, always getting up with us at night and changing dirty diapers….he seriously NEVER complains and wants to help out. Now my son is two and they are best friends.  One of my husband’s best attributes is his ability to make others laugh, he is seriously hilarious and loves to make others happy. My son gets this from his dad. The two together make me laugh non-stop.
